Amtrak from Newark Penn Station to Washington Union Station

It was my first time to ride on the Amtrak.
Amtrak is the most rapid railway in the US.
However, as you know, Japan has a more rapid railway, Shinkansen.
The maximum speeds of Amtrak and Shinkansen are 241 km/h and 320 km/h, respectively.
Of course, arriving at the destination within less time is very helpful.
However, enjoying longer time in the very comfortable car is also worthful.

It took about 3 hours from Newark Penn Station to Washington Union Station.
It is about 350 km.
So, as you can notice, Amtrak is not fast.

I brought beers and snacks to the train to enjoy the trip.
Unfortunately, Amtrak gives us WiFi internet service.
So, it is possible to work on the train.
Of course, I did with beers and snacks.

The weakest point of Amtrak is the cost.
The round trip ticket was about $500 per passenger.
If we use a car, it may be $250 per family.
I cannot use Amtrak for a family trip.
